History of Sun Valley Family Campground
In 1987, Sun Valley Family Campground opened for business. The original park had over 150 camping full service lots with a one acre swimming pool with sandy beach. The park was developed on the former Marshall Quarry site. The site boasts two stone quarries that have been fully stocked for fishing. As camping interest increased, the campground evolved.
To meet the needs of larger campers, additional lots were made with an expansion on the west end of the campground. The onsite laundry facilities were expanded as well with large capacity washers and dryers. With interest in year-around living gaining popularity, Sun Valley began to offer residential lots for permanent residence. Along with the residential lots came metered electric for each lot. More and more people starting calling Sun Valley home.
The recreation areas of the campground grew over the years as well. Two large water slides were added to the swimming pool. Shuffle Board Courts were placed at the front and rear of the campground. The tent camping area was expanded and included an area for playing horseshoes. Volleyball and basketball courts were built to allow for family fun.
Sun Valley continues to make improvements to the campground. A new Customer Service Area was created to better meet the needs of our customers. With a larger space for the Customer Service Area, customers now have a better expierence of check in and check out. The shower house and restroom facility have been remodeled. New countertops, sink fixtures, and shower fixtures have been installed. New paint and lighting have also been added.
Sun Valley continues to press forward in the tradition of family fun and recreation set in a wooded natural environment. We invite you to join us!
